Today’s Surgery Saturday features Pepper, a 4-yr old Daschshund referred to MVS with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). In humans, the condition is called a slipped or herniated disc.
It is one of the most common neurologic disorders seen in pets, causing pain, nerve damage, and even paralysis. Dachshunds, Beagles, Basset Hounds and Shih Tzu are especially predisposed. Our Veterinary Surgeon, Dr. Potanas performed surgical decompression and Pepper doing great and recovering at home.
