Dr. Chauvet was born in France, raised in Gabon, and then Canada, where she graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She then completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana in 1992 and a residency at the University of California, Davis in 1993.
Dr. Chauvet was on staff at the University of Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital from 1994 to 1999, a time during which she did research on gene therapy for brain cancer. During that period, she also started her own business and later moved to Florida. Since then, Dr. Chauvet has grown and sold a specialty practice, lent her experience in Canada and multiple states, all while expanding her knowledge in rehabilitation and hyperbaric medicine. Dr. Chauvet is fully trained in canine and feline rehabilitation, and certified in hyperbaric medicine.
Seeking to teach others, Dr. Chauvet developed “Brain Camp,” a residency training course for neurology/neurosurgery residents. She is fully trained in rehabilitation and created an online rehab course for after back injuries accessible through the Udemy platform. Finally, Dr. Chauvet also founded and funded several not-for-profits for animals and children.
She raised two fabulous boys, one currently enrolled in Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and one who aspires to be a mechanic for the US Army. Her newfound passion is the Andalusian horses that she breeds, raises, and shows in dressage. The rest of her time is either with her Australian Cattle dogs and rat hunting cat or writing non-fiction, expanding her equine product business, or occasionally dabbles in art.
Furthering her contribution to the veterinary field, she often lectures internationally and promotes the arena of veterinary education and a multifaceted approach to medicine. A testament to her commitment to patient care and customer service, Dr. Chauvet always provides pet parents direct access via her cell number and is always ready to take their call.
