Tyson’s Surgery

Meet Tyson, a 2-year old Bulldog mix. He presented to Miami Veterinary Specialists during our emergency hours after being attacked by two dogs. Owner reported that Tyson was bleeding from the mouth and that mandible seemed fracture, showing a lot of pain. Tyson also sustained bite wounds on right forelimb and hindlimbs.

Midnight’s Urethral Obstruction

Meet Midnight, a shy 3-year old male cat. Midnight presented to Miami Veterinary Specialists due to an urethral obstruction. An urethral obstruction is a common condition found in male cats. It occurs when the urethra (tube that drains the urine out) develops obstruction as a result of inflammatory material, mucus, crystal and calculi.

Jackson’s Surgery

Meet Jackson, a 9-year old handsome poodle. He was referred to Miami Veterinary Specialists by his primary care veterinarian for a consultation with one of our Specialists.

Jackson was seen by Dr. Sarah Evans, one of our Board-Certified Surgeons. He presented for evaluation of a mass on the tendons of the right foot.

Bobby

Bobby’s Emergency

This is Bobby, a 7-year old male Pug. He was transferred from Pet 911 to Miami Veterinary Specialists after being attacked by a much larger dog. He was treated for shock, was stabilized and bite wounds to his head were clipped and cleaned. Also, performed radiographs confirmed that Bobby suffered from a right mandibular fracture.

Biggie’s Emergency

Meet Biggie, an 11-month old West Highland Terrier. Biggie presented to Miami Veterinary Specialists during our emergency hours for inappetence, vomiting and lethargy.

Biggie was seen by Dr. Rebecca Aldoretta and Dr. Candyce Thompson, two of our veterinarians. An abdominal ultrasound and blood work were performed to rule-out the possible causes of Biggie’s symptoms.

Chichi’s Story

Meet Chichi, a 5-month old mixed breed puppy. He was referred to Miami Veterinary Specialists for a surgery consultation. Chichi was suffering from lethargy, inappetence, anorexia and intermittent vomiting episodes.

Chichi was seen by Dr. Juan Sardinas, one of our Board-Certified Surgeons. Dr. Sardinas performed abdominal radiographs, which revealed a gastrointestinal foreign body obstruction.

Vita the Yorkie

Vita the Yorkie

Vita is a 13-year old Yorkie who presented to Miami Veterinary Specialists due to signs of inappetance, vomiting and lethargy.

Vita was seen by Dr. Evans, one of our Board-Certified Surgeons. During Vita’s examination, her owners said that they had not noticed a heat cycle for years. Performed radiographs and an abdominal ultrasound revealed Vita was suffering from a pyometra.

Meet Gus, an 11-year old Pug. He flew all the way from Bahamas to Miami Veterinary Specialists for a surgery consultation and possible emergency surgery. He presented to MVS for a probable gastrointestinal foreign body obstruction.

TPLO Surgery for Cranial Cruciate Ligament Rupture

Meet Crissy, a 7-year old Beagle. She was referred to Miami Veterinary Specialists for a surgery consultation due to left hind limb lameness. A left cranial cruciate ligament rupture was suspected by Crissy’s primary care veterinarian.

Crissy was seen by Dr. Laura D’Amico, one of our Board-Certified Surgeons. During the examination, Crissy’s owner shared that Crissy also has a history of a left inguinal hernia that she obtained three years ago.
